As Black History Month comes to a close, it is important to understand the cultural significance and work paved by the African American Community. While February comes to an end, the necessity and importance of appreciating and recognizing the contributions made by African/African-Americans throughout The United States and internationally.

Sadly, as much as many seem to be familiar with Black History Month, it’s clear that the grasp of the lofty contributions of African Americans goes unnoticed majority of the other months throughout the year. This is disappointing and evident of a larger issue regarding the acknowledgement of minority contributions within the US.
